Snoop Dogg - "Imagine" (feat. Dr. Dre & D'Angelo)

From 1992's "Deep Cover" until today, Snoop Lion Doggy Dogg and the Good Doctor have been a lethal combination on numerous hip hop classics. While most of their collaborations are hard-hitting gangbangers or G-Funk-infused party tracks, this song, off Snoop's massively underrated 2006 album Tha Blue Carpet Treatment, is notable for its completely different sound.

Dre provides a bare bones, looped piano sample, which gives the duo a nostalgic backdrop over which to reminisce about the importance of hip hop in their own lives and culture. The song is a hauntingly beautiful West Coast gangbanger's re-interpretation of John Lennon's "Imagine" (a hip hop tradition that dates back to Nasty Nas's It Was Written) and provides the perfect end to Snoop's album. Enjoy.
