That's That Mixtape, Vol. X: Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth

I apologize that it has taken me this long to release the latest incarnation in the series, but I did not wish to attach my name to an inferior product and this is the first time I've felt truly good about every aspect of the mixtape.  What you hear now is the eleventh and final version of this particular installment.  As always, it combines the classics along with what I consider to be some of the best new new songs of today.  It's taken three months in the making, but on the plus side, I have the starting and concluding tracks for the next three tapes lined up.  I consider this to be one of the best tapes yet and I hope you enjoy it.  Without further ado, hit the jump for the tracklist/download link.

That's That Mixtape, Vol. IX

It's been nearly six months since I released my last tape.  Since that time, finals and summer internships have kept me from updating the site with any frequency.  Although I've started posting more frequently as of late, it is this tape that marks the complete reboot of the site.  In order to mark the return, I've gone back to my bread and butter with this tape, compiling a ton of classic tracks that have been in heavy rotation on my iPod/walkman for years and mixing in some newer songs from old and new faces.  The result is a mixtape that flows really well and a product that I feel is one of my best tapes yet.  I hope that you'll give it a listen (hit the jump for the tracklist/download link).  As always, I appreciate feedback regarding my music selection and recommendations on artists that the site may be missing out on.

Peace, Love, & Hip Hop,
The Notorious N.O.A.

That's That Mixtape, Vol. 8: 2010 'Til Infinity

So here it is.  The April installment of series. I would be lying if I said that this tape has been the easiest one to put out. As I've toiled over it when I've had the time over the past few weeks I've had to scrap entire playlists two or three times and start over. Despite this, I feel like the final product is very refined and may very well be the best tape yet. It's a bit lengthier than previous incarnations (the only mixtape that has been longer was Vol. II), but it also provides a diverse sound that still flows fairly well and I think you'll really enjoy bumping. Big props to 206up for hooking me up with the dope picture of the Town that provided the inspiration for the cover. Hit the jump for the tracklist/download link:

That's That Mixtape, Vol. SE7EN

I've been meaning to post this for about a week or so, but midterms and papers have been piling up, which, though it's resulted in the delay, has also allowed me to refine the final playlist for about two weeks longer than the time I've spent on any other tape thus far.  The result is a mixtape that I feel is the best product that I've put out thus far.  It includes a handful of new songs by great up and coming artists, but also gives spins to some of my favorite older songs that had been gathering dust in the depths of my iPod.  The finished product mixes really well together, which is a relief after spending a tedious amount of time looking for that last song or two to blend into the album.  As much as I'd like to spend more time tooting my own horn, I'll let you get to the actual tape.  Enjoy:

What's In Rotation, Vol. VI

It'll hard to top the last tape, but I stand behind it when I say that the latest installment is right up there with the prior.  A lot of the songs on this month's version haven't been featured on the blog yet.  As always, I'd appreciate positive/negative feedback on the tape.  Hit the jump for the track list and download link:

What's In Rotation, Vol. V: Rap 101

I have to offer an apology for my last installment of this series.  Although it was composed of songs that were individually very good, the whole was less than the sum of it's parts.  The songs didn't mesh well and as a result the mix did not live up to my own standards.

This month's edition is different and I can honestly say it's the best mix I've put out in the series.  It sounds great and I can't wait for you to hear it.  As always, I appreciate feedback on my musical palate, writing, and blog in general.  Hit the jump for the tracklist/download link.

What's In Rotation, Vol. IV: I Do It For Hip Hop

It's been a while since I did this (thank God the semester's over).  In the intermediary period a lot of good music has been released.  The Clipse released their highly anticipated 'Til The Casket Drops and Wale leaked what may very well be the song of the year.  Geo of Blue Scholars got put on by Duck Down and rhymed alongside legends KRS-One and Buckshot.  Joell Ortiz released one of the best mixtapes of the year in Road Kill, Grynch hooked up with producer Illmind, and Macklemore and Ryan Lewis released one of the best projects I've heard...ever.  The fourth installment of What's In Rotation takes all of these releases into consideration while looking back at the past year and decade (with a couple older tracks as well).  Hit the jump for the tracklist/link:

What's In Rotation, Vol. III: New Chapter

The third installment of the thatsthat series.  I'm gonna give you guys fair warning in advance, but the next couple weeks are going to be hectic school-wise, but I'm going to keep posting when I have the time so keep checking in.  As always, I appreciate the support.  Hit the jump for the tracklist/link:

What's In Rotation, Vol. II: Nice As I Am

The second installment of the series yields a few more songs than originally intended as it's been a little over half a month since the first installment.  I whittled it down as much as I felt I could without losing the integrity of the playlist.  Hit the link for the tracklist/download link.

What's In Rotation, Vol. I: We Must Be Heard

I'm proud to introduce my new bi-monthly series, What's In Rotation.  Each installment will be composed of new and old songs that I've been playing heavily as of late.  Hit the link for the tracklist/link
