Normally I'd have way too much self-respect to post a Mikey P track and would be all for hating on Duke (I am human afterall), but I have to thank the Devils for helping me win my bracket, so I manned up, got rid of my dignity, and lowered myself to posting this. I know it's Posner's song, but I couldn't bare to give him top billing, so I gave it to the two members of XXL's freshman class, Big Sean and Gangster Gibbs. Alright, I'm going to go take a long warm shower and come to grips with who I've become in the past five minutes.

Kyle Lucas - "Red Button (Remix)" feat. Mike Posner
I'm not that big a fan of Mike Posner, he's an awful singer/lyricist and I don't understand the hype he's getting. That being said, Kyle Lucas is one of my favorite up and coming emcees and if he's gonna remake a Mikey P track I'll give him a little more leeway. The Big Boi co-signed artist manages to save this song. KL's next mixtape, It's Always Sunny In Marietta is set to be released next month and his band Vonnegutt's debut Falling Up the Stairs is set to drop soon.

Hip Hop Love Songs
(Kyle Lucas' Vonnegutt)
I apologize to the male contingency of my readership, but my better half is coming into town this weekend and I thought it would be applicable to drop some hip hop love songs for the LAAADIES (don't worry, I'll drop some songs at the end of the post to redeem my street rep). On another note, be sure to comment and tell me what your favorite hip hop love songs of all time are...

XV - "Mirror's Edge (Benzie Remix)" feat. Mike Posner, Bun B, & GLC
The wait is finally over (and it was worth it). Been waiting all week for this remix. Check XV's other mixtapes. I've included another of my favorite XV songs, "Fall Out The Sky" off of Everybody's Nobody. Don't sleep on this artist.

Mike Posner - "First Date Sex"
Let me begin today's drop by stating that I am all for the diversification of hip hop. I believe that no matter who you are, no matter your skin color of socioeconomic background, if you have the talent, drive, and passion to do something, you should be able to do it. That being said, there is a difference between MCs who happen to also be white (Eminem, Beastie Boys, Kyle Lucas, Macklemore, Grynch, etc.) and white boy rap (Asher Roth, Vanilla Ice, Mike Posner). White MCs spit in the tradition of hip hop while expanding and diversifying the industry. White boy rap is typically commercialized, often party anthems, targeted specifically towards the largest consumer of hip hop in this country (Caucasians). Although these rappers typically sell well, they are more often than not destined to be one hit wonders and sideshow attractions in the world that is hip hop. Mike Posner is no different. Coming out of the esteemed Duke University, Posner has gained a following at colleges. Mikey P doesn't have that much depth lyrically (in fact, most of his lyrics border on atrocious), but that doesn't stop this track from being one of the most ridiculous(ly hilarious) songs I've ever heard (think "Orgasm = Love" mixed with "Birthday Sex"). It's much better than the original (though that isn't saying that much).
"I met Jay-Z and I'll tell you 'bout it if we have first date sex, first date sex (please don't make me wait girl)"
As always, feedback is much appreciated.
